Imago by Elizabeth Neervoort

Imago – Image
What does this mean?
An image presented for all and sundry
Is it really you or me?
Only makes me want to flee
Within lies the reality of fears
Come help reveal that which
Hasn't been seen for an eternity of years

Walk with me this curiosity road
Thunderstorm, Turtle
There is no need to goad
Come walk with me a little down this road…

Listen, mirror, Listen, mirror
Have I got it right?
This is much better than having a fight
Keep going, keep going
The journey’s long
90 days will make us strong
Remember, there is no right, there is no wrong

Imago provides a safety net
For either to fall and yet
Gives a place of enormous space
Filled with compassion and heaps of grace
Imago allows each of us to face the fear
Whilst placing our Relationship back into gear

We leave behind the trauma and chaos
Seeing the Child for a little while
Standing still yet another year
Damn, I’d much rather face the fear

Communicate to each other whatever comes
No shame, no blame
This is not a game
Our Relationship will never be the same
Flight, Fright,
Bring it to the light
Forever to lose its terrible might
Why not take off the old disguise
I see you now with brand new eyes

What occurred before was terribly wrong
I see you now Soft, yet Strong!
Take my hand, I'll take yours
Leading the way to a brand new day
The veils have lifted to reveal My Love
My heart flutters like a dove
Imago!
