Tim’s Time-Machine!
“People who weren’t there need to know what Tim said, put the vision out on Imago World” said one commentator in response to Tim Atkinson’s sharing of the plans and vision for Imago Relationships International. We’ve done that – follow this link to see the entire presentation on Imago’s strategy.

“He gave us a wonderful vision plus some steps in place which will help us make the vision into a reality.”
Tim started his talk by inviting the group to join him on a journey in his time machine. Accompanied by a drum roll from Lori Fithiam, we arrived in 2007, or maybe 2008, perhaps even 2009. If the date was uncertain, what we found wasn’t. It was a world in which Imago was a household word, and membership of IRI fulfilled all our dreams. (See Imago World June 2005)
Returning to the present day, we learned about the key steps we are taking to achieve this, from the Valentine’s Day initiative, to the $100,000 in matching grants made available to the community by Helen and Harville. We hope you will find time to look through the presentation materials. “The Time Machine was wonderful and if we can envision it, we can make it happen!” wrote one attendee. Yes!!
When we talk about vision, it often includes change. Here’s an example of the kind of great discussion which emerged from sharing our plans with the community. One therapist wrote to share concerns including “I hear modular training and can’t help but think that it is based in fear of not having therapists in training, of going after quantity vs. quality, and of reducing fees and requirements to entice people to take the training.” We’ve had the opportunity to dialogue with her, to share more of our vision for the training of the future, which will combine flexibility with a sense of ongoing relationship to ensure all in the community are able to continue to deliver great results with our clients.
It’s lovely for us to have these discussions in the context of the overall assessment from the same person “I think we have needed a vision of a future behind which we can all bring our unique gifts, thinking, ideas to create the best of the realities held within it.”
