Meet Our Keynote Speakers!
Alex Korb, Ph.D. is a neuroscientist, writer, and coach. As a neuroscientist at UCLA, he has published over a dozen peer-reviewed journal articles on depression, neuromodulation and other topics. He is the author of The Upward Spiral: Using Neuroscience to Reverse the Course of Depression, One Small Change at a Time, and writes a popular blog for Psychology Today called PreFrontal Nudity: Your Brain Exposed. Outside of the lab, Dr. Korb is the head coach of the UCLA Women’s Ultimate Frisbee team, and is a stand-up comic!
Carolyn Daitch, Ph.D. is an internationally renowned psychologist, author, trainer and presenter. The director of the Center for the Treatment of Anxiety Disorders in Michigan, Dr. Daitch is the elected fellow with the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis and the Michigan Psychological Association. She is the author of Anxiety Disorders: The Go-to Guide for Clients and Therapists, Anxious in Love: How to Handle Your Anxiety, Reduce Conflict and Reconnect with Your Partner, and the award-winning Affect Regulation Toolbox (Best Hypnosis Book, Society of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis). Her newest book, The Road to Calm Workbook is a ready to use guide to manage emotions and stabilize mood and reactions.
Harville Hendrix, Ph.D. and Helen LaKelly Hunt, Ph.D. have created a variety of resources in order to help couples, families, educators, and therapists strengthen relationship knowledge and skills. These resources include three New York Times best sellers Getting the Love You Want, Keeping the Love You Find, and Giving the Love that Heals, their latest book Making Marriage Simple (2013), and six other books and manuals and out-of–the-box programs.
Harville is a couple’s therapist with more than 40 years’ experience as an educator, clinical trainer and lecturer whose work has appeared on Oprah 17 times. He holds graduate degrees from Union Theological Seminary (NY) and the University of Chicago and is a former professor at Southern Methodist University.
Helen – in addition to her partnership in the authorship of 10 books on relationships and her co-creation and distribution of IMAGO – holds earned and honorary degrees from Union Theological Seminary (NY) and Southern Methodist University. The sole author of Faith and Feminism she was installed in the Women’s Hall of Fame for her leadership in the global women’s movement.
Helen and Harville have been married for more than 30 years, have six children and six grandchildren, and reside in Dallas, Texas.
