About Imago
Imago Relationships Worldwide (IRW) is an organization of more than 2,000 professionals in 50 countries working with clients in various forms of relationship. The Imago organization comprises numerous local organizations of professionals and the Imago International Training Institute which provides training and certification of Imago Clinical Therapists, Imago Workshop Presenters, and Imago Professional Facilitators.
For Clients.
Imago Relationship Therapy, developed by Dr. Harville Hendrix and Dr. Helen LaKelly Hunt in 1980, is a form of relationship and couples therapy that focuses on transforming conflict into healing and growth through relational connection.
Imago Relationship Therapy can be experienced through individual therapy, couples therapy, inter-generational therapy, or family therapy with an Imago Clinical Therapist. Couples and inter-generational pairs can also attend workshops to focus their energy on their relationship over the course of two or three days. Imago also offers similar workshops for single people who are having difficulty in maintaining their relationships. Imago Professional Facilitators provide group facilitation and relational support in organisations and the workplace.
The term Imago is from the Latin word for “image,” and refers to an unconscious image of familiar love, developed in childhood, and remaining as yet unchanged in adulthood. As clients address these childhood relationships, they come to recognize their personal imago as the image of the person who can make me whole again.
Getting the love you want, keeping the love you find and connecting securely and deeply with your partner, these are the goals of Imago Relationship Therapy. We can help you to resolve conflict while staying connected.

Imago provides professional training, certification and continuing education and development through the Imago International Training Institute. Professionals with vast practical experience provide training and necessary supervision and certification, along Imago’s Professional Development Path for Certified Imago Relationship Therapists, Workshop Presenters and Facilitators.
We are a multi-lingual, multi-cultural community of Imago Practitioners working in a truly sociocratic and inherently differentiated community.
The aim of the global organization, Imago Relationships Worldwide (IRW), is to facilitate global connection and knowledge sharing through Imago Local Organizations (ILO) in numerous countries that are each unique and generative while being responsible for excellence and the core principles of Imago Relationship Theory.
